Sourcing

Every certification claim is cited to the standards body (DOT/NHTSA, UN ECE, Snell, SHARP) or the manufacturer's published homologation. Every specification is attributed to the manufacturer's spec sheet as a claim, not asserted as measured fact. Where a safety number came from an independent lab, we name the lab and link it. We never cite a source we didn't actually read, and we never present research as testing we performed. Our full method is on the methodology page.

No fabrication

We do not invent certifications, weights, prices, ratings or testimonials. Prices render only from the live Amazon price layer and vanish when stale rather than showing a guessed number. We publish no customer reviews because we have no customers — we sell nothing. If we cannot verify a claim, we write "unverified" rather than guess, especially on certification.

Independence

Visor & Vent earns affiliate commissions (see the affiliate disclosure), but a commission has never determined a ranking. No manufacturer pays us for placement or coverage, and we accept no free helmets in exchange for reviews. Every review names who should skip the pick, not only who should buy it.

Update cadence

• Every roundup is reviewed at least quarterly — helmet lineups change yearly.
• When a standard changes (an ECE or Snell revision), we update the pillar and every affected model's certification line.
• Prices refresh daily via the live price layer; the "as of" date shows on every page.
• Each page carries a visible "Updated" date.

Corrections

If something here is factually or certification-wise incorrect, we want to know. We aim to correct verified errors within 48 hours, with a visible note on the page where the correction is material. Contact us with the page and the issue.
